Kahui Ako Hikoi

IPS had a Teacher Only Day and invited some of the Kahui Ako along.
It was a great day, lead by Damon Ritai. He talked to us about some of the early Maori stories in New Plymouth, followed by a visit to Pukerangiora and a Powhiri and working bee at Te Kohanga Moa Marae in Inglewood.
It made it clear to me that we need to lern the stories from our Maori locals and share with our children and community. They are vital to preserving our history and keeping the Maori culture alive.
